| Research Abstract |
当研究における偏微分方程式への特異点論の応用に関しては、一昨年度から開始した液体音響学や地震波の研究で重要なヘルムホルツ方程式の漸近解の研究へ特性曲線の方法を応用する試みをさらに推進した.また,懸案であった,空間2次元ハミルトン・ヤコビ方程式の粘性解の衝撃波の分岐について,ギリシャのコシオリス氏との討論において,ある種の仮定のもとでは分類を推進する突破口が開かれた.
一方の微分幾何学への応用については、双曲空間内の超曲面の双曲的ガウス写像の特異点を研究することにより,それに付随した双曲的ガウス曲率などを定義し,その幾何学的意味をあたえた.さらに,双曲空間内の曲線に対して,ホロ球面的曲面と言う曲面を新たに定義しその特異点を分類,さらにその特異点が曲線がホロ球面上の曲線とどの程度近いかを評価するものであると言う幾何学的解釈をあたえた.また、古くから知られている、定傾曲線及びベルトラン曲線と言ったいわゆる特殊曲線について,11年度に引き続き研究を行い,それらのジェネリックな性質,さらに,以前に研究したダルブー可展開面との関係などいくつかの新しい成果をあげた.また,これら2種類の特殊曲線のみではなく,第2定傾曲線と呼ぶ新しい特殊曲線を定義し,それに付随した線織面等との関係を記述した.
これらの成果をあげるに当たって,具体的例をコンピュータグラフィックスで描画することにより,どの様な特異点が現れるか?どの様な幾何学的意味があるか?について予測をたて,実際に証明を行うという実験数学的な研究が有効であった.
