| Research Abstract |
本研究の代表者中尾は、1999年来、外部領域における半線形波動方程式の大域解の存在に関して二つの方法によるアプローチをこころみて来た。すなわち、全エネルギーの減衰を利用する方法と局所的エネルギーの減衰を利用する方法である。
前者のために、障害物の一部付近とはるか遠方で有効な摩擦項をつけることを考えた。一方後者のためには、障害物の一部付近でのみ有効な摩擦項で十分である。前者は1999年度内でほぼ満足すべき結果を得ていたので、2000年度は主として後者について考察した。
線形方程式に対する局所エネルギーの減衰結果はすでに得ていた(1998年度発表)のでこれを基点にいわゆるLp評価をまず導き、これを非線形方程式に応用することによってちいさな振幅の時間大域解の存在証明に成功した。
われわれの結果の特徴は、摩擦項の効果についてはなるべく弱い状況を設定し、障害物の形状に関してはいかなる仮定も設けないところにある。これまで知られている結果は摩擦項が全面的に一様に働いている場合か、障害物が凸形や星形の場合に限られていたものである。
半線形方程式に適用した考えを強い非線形波動方程式にも適用することができるかどうか興味深い。現在はこの問題に取り組んでおり、すでに見通しをつけたところである。
分担者川島は主として希薄ガス方程式の漸近挙動について、分担者柴田は主としてナビエ・ストークス方程式の外部問題について興味深い結果を得た。
