Research Abstract |
In this Project, we have tried to prepare polymer nano-organized assemblies having a responsive ability to molecular stimulation using Langmuir-Blodgett technique. The Langmuir-Blodgett method is one of the most useful techniques for the fabrication of functional ultrathin films with a controlled thickness and an ordered structure similar to biomembranes and the technique has been widely applied to various functional devices. Recently, we have found that N-dodecylacrylamide (DDA) polymer has an excellent ability to form a stable monolayer on a water surface and LB film. Furthermore, we have succeeded in the introduction of functional monomer to DDA polymer by a copolymerization method to functionalize the DDA polymer LB films. Various functional groups such as photoredox, electroactive, molecular recognition, chiral chromophore were introduced into the polymer LB films aiming to prepare polymer nano-organized assemblies having a responsive ability to molecular stimulation.
