Research Abstract

The infrared lenses, suitable for the use at very low temperature (below 70K) and for the astronomical observations in the mid-infrared, have been developed. The following activities were done :
1) KRS-5 refractive index measurements at low temperature
The KRS-5 refractive index below 70K is not available in the literature, so we measured it using the Fabry-Perot interference method.
2) Design, & fabrication of the lenses of proto-type mid-infrared camera
The mid-infrared camera optics have designed , and the proto-type lenses have been fabricated.
3) establish the alignment technique of the cooled camera
The adjustment at optics has done at room temperture, but the camera should be used around 5-10K.So thermal distortion must be avoided.
4) presentation in the international symposium
Development and the status of the camera have been reported in a few international symposium.
