Research Abstract |
The subject of this paper is to reveal the actual state of the tradition of Hikoroku-kei's art which is inherited from Meiji period to today's stage of Bunraku, analyzing the whole contents of the late Tsuruzawa Kanji VI's talk about art, "Tsuruzawa Kanji's opinion on his art and life". I have tried to understand the content of his talk exactly listening to the recorded tapes of his talk with Takezawa Danroku VII, who is the son of Tsuruzawa Kanji as well as an apprentice of Bunraku-Shamisen. As the result, some points have come to be revealed as follows. 1)The masters who influenced forming the art of Tsuruzawa Kanji VI; Bunraku-Kei Shamisen players who trained Tsuruzawa Kanji VI (1) Toyozawa Matsutaro I (2) Toyozawa Danpei III (3) Tsuruzawa Dohachi I; Bunraku-kei Shamisen players who trained Tsuruzawa Kanji VI (1) Toyozawa Hirosuke VI (2) Tsuruzawa Kanjiro II (3) Tsuruzawa Tomojiro VI; Tayus who trained Tsuruzawa Kanji VI (1) Takemoto Osumidayu III (Hikoroku-kei) (2) Takemoto Koshijidayu III (Bunraku-kei) 2)Traditional pieces of Hikoroku-kei's art which are inherited to Tsuruzawa Kanji VI Tayus with whom Tsuruzawa Kanji VI played Shamisen (Aijamisen) (1) Takemoto Tsudayu III (2) Takemoto Gendayu VII (3) Takemoto Shikorodayu V (4) Toyotake Komatayu VII (5) Takemoto Tsudayu IV
