Research Abstract |
コロイド流体の熱力学的性質や静的構造に対して、コロイド粒子のサイズの分散や、コロイド粒子間相互作用の強さの分散がどの様な効果を持っているかを理論的に調べることが本研究の主な目的である。 多分散コロイド液体は典型的な複雑液体であるので、系の本質的部分を研究可能にする適当なモデルの導入は不可避であり、同時に系の物理的諸量の表式を利用可能な表現で入手することが系への理解を進展させるために重要である。本研究では、多成分剛体球湯川液体モデルを採用し、MSA近似でOrnstein-Zerinike方程式を解いて得た解析的な解に基づいて、静的構造因子や中性子(または光子)散乱断面積、熱力学諸量等の解析的表式を得ることに成功した。これらの表式は、考察系の複雑さにもかかわらず、コンパクトで有用であり今後の有意義な応用が大いに期待できる。この方向の研究は現在も進展しつつあり、この課題はより条件の広い場合のOrnstein-Zernike方程式の解析的解の研究として統計力学固有のものでもある。 こうして得られた解析的表式を使って、剛体球湯川流体におけるサイズ分散と相互作用分散の効果を研究した結果の概要は次のようである。(1)静的構造因子における効果:相互作用分散効果は、既に知られていたサイズ効果と定性的には同じ効果を持っており、サイズ効果よりは小さいことが分かった。(2)圧力-体積等温曲線への効果:相互作用分散効果は臨界点近傍で特徴ある効果を持っており、サイズ効果はこれとは逆向きのこうかであることが分かった。
