Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study are to investigate how the types of pants affect the body movements of healthy persons when putting on and taking off pants, and how they are related to wearing comfortability. In the experiment, four types pants, namely, three types jeans and a jersey pants. Subjects were twenty-nine healthy female university students. After videotaping the subjects putting on and taking off each types of pants, each subjects was required to answer a sensory evaluation sheet using SD method. The results were as follows : 1) The characteristics of movement processes of putting on and taking off each type of pants were extracted and were shown in different figures. 2) With regard to required time for each movement, a significant difference was found among the different types of pants. While putting on pants, jersey pants the least time, while jeans required twice as much time as the jersey pants. 3) Regarding which leg is used to step into and out of pants, it was confirmed that the different types of pants did not affect which leg was used for the movement.
