Research Abstract	本年度も昨年までと同様、英国側研究者との共同研究、討論を進めながら、研究を推進した。2001年5月には、日本の金沢でナローギャップ半導体国際会議が開催された際、三浦とそのグループが会議に参加した英国側の研究者であるStradling教授、Murdin博士と昨年までに共同研究で得られた高ドープInAs/GaSb量子井戸のサイクロトロン共鳴の結果についての研究討論を行い、有意義な成果を得た。6月には三浦がOxford大学にNicholas教授、Ryan教授を訪問し、半導体量子構造の強磁場物性についての研究討論を行った。8月にはオーストリアのリンツで変調構造半導体の国際会議があり、これに出席した三浦、森、濱口らの当研究班の主要班員が現地で英国側のEaves教授、Nicholas教授と種々の問題について研究討論を行った他、本年度の日英セミナーとして2002年1月に英国Stamfordで10+10会議を行うことに合意した。この合意に基づき、1月14日、15日の2日間にわたってStamfordのGeorgeホテルの会議場で英国側12名、日本側11名が参加して日英セミナーを行った。日本側からの本研究で得られた成果発表の他、英国側からTurberfield(Oxford大)によるDNAナノ構造とフォトニック結晶、Patane博士によるGaAs/AlAsアイランド超格子における磁気輸送現象、Mizuta(日立-Cambridg)によるナノエレクトロニクス、Davies(Cambridge大)によるテラヘルツ発振器と物理と生物学への応用、など興味深い話題が提供され、これらをめぐって活溌な討論が行われた。計画研究班(森班)の森は日英セミナー終了後の平成14年1月15日から1月17日までノッティンガム大学を訪問し、Eaves教授とGaAs/AlAs超格子における垂直伝導の磁場依存性、フォノン循環機構と磁気フォノン共鳴との関係、磁場によるミニバンド伝導の消失などに関して,これまでの測定結果と計算結果との比較検討を行い,今後行うべき実験について議論した。また関連する共同実験、セミナーを行った。評価委員会は全体として開催する代わりに2001年8月に計画研究代表者である三浦が難波評価委員と会見し、研究の進展について報告するとともに、今後の研究方針についての議論を行った。
