Research Abstract	万国地質学会におけるIGCP-368分科会(ブラジル)及びアラビア楯状地に関する国際シンポジウム及び野外討)論会(サウジアラビア)を主催した。また、インド南部〜東部〜中央部の原生代変動帯及び関連の重要なゴンドワナ陸片地域の地質野外研究を実施した。国内では、上記の海外出張の成果のまとめ、あるいは東ゴンドワナ陸片各地の研究のレビュー、重要地域の岩石試料の分析的研究や学術論文集の編集等を行った。これらの結果、以下の成果を得た。 1.東ゴンドワナ・ロディニア集合テクトニクスが総合的に検討され、10億年変動帯の基本的役割が再認識された。そして、8-5億年パンアフリカ・東アフリカ変動帯の重要性が一層明らかにされた。 2.インド原生代変動帯と南西オーストラリア、東ガート帯と南極ライナー帯それぞれの具体的対比とその問題点が示された。また、インド南部原生代変動帯変成岩類や花崗岩質岩類の形成条件が詳しく検討された。 3.インド北西部とアラビア半島両地域の後期原生代〜初期古生代にかけての地質事件対比が試みられた。アラバリ・デリー帯の延長はアラビア半島には認められないが、同帯西側のマラニ火成岩地帯とアラビア楯状地北東端のアルラヤン地塊はよい対応を示すことがわかった。 4.以上の研究成果は、研究分担者や研究協力者ら個人やグループによる多数の学術論文として国際誌等に、あるいは2冊の国際シンポジウムプロシーディングスと2冊の学術論文集として発行された。さらに、4冊の国際誌特別号あるいは国際学会刊行物として編集中となっている。
