Research Abstract |
1. We inputted the drawings of architectural remains and finds obtained by the excavation of Tell Mastuma and the Euphrates Basin. Then, it was traced with the illustrator, and the work of database was done. Furthermore, the photogaraph which related to the drawing was inputted, and the unification of the data was attempted, too. we will continue the works of the tracing and the database preparation. 2. The grasp of the function in the rooms, houses and town districts were examined with structure of settlement at Tell Mastuma in the relatin with artifacts. A part of this result have been printed in "Ancient Near Eastern Studies Supplement 7". The town of Tell Mastuma rebuilt at the Iron Age was able to be regarded as one of the garrisons in which families of farmer-soldiers colonized by the foreign policy of the Hamath kingdom in the early 9th century. 3. Hisahiko WADA, one of the research associates, presented the resarch on the beginning and early development of the olive cultivation in Syria and Palestine. In the East Mediterrranean world, it became clear that fruit tree growing started and industrialized from the Chalcolithic Age to the ealy Bronze Age. 4. The researches of finds from Tell Mastuma were carried out continuosly by rasearch associates. The results, such as comparative studies on ceramic bowls and stone vessels, research of loomweights which reused rim sherds of large storage jar, and also sicientific analysis of Iron objects, were released by Takurou Adachi, Shin-ichi Nishiyama and Hideo Akanuma. 5. We published the "Research result report" of this research. Furthermore, the result obtained by the research will be released in "Bulletin of Ancient Orient Museum."
