| Research Abstract |
1.海底洞窟から得られたシラタマアマガイ属の殻体を検討し,2新種を含む6種を識別し,コハクカノコガイ属と単系統群を構成することを明らかにし,コハクカノコガイ科を再定義を行った(Paleontological Research誌に掲載済).
2.マーシャル島の中新世化石種Nerita(Amphinerita)aff.politaを検討し,この種はシラタマアマガイ属に近縁な新属であることを明らかにした.この発見により,シラタマアマガイ類は中新世にはすでに海底洞窟のような環境に適応していたことが強く示唆された(Paleontological Research誌に掲載).
3.海底洞窟のシラタマアマガイ属とanchialine habitatおよび河川域のコハクカノコガイ属諸種の解剖学的に検討し,両属の単系統性を支持する一方,海底洞窟→地下水域→河川域とうい新たな陸上進出の経路を初めて明らかにした(Zoological Scripta誌に投稿中).
4.海底洞窟特有のクチケレエビスガイ科巻貝類の分類学的研究を進め結果,深海域に知られるLarochea亜科の2既知属に近縁な1新属2新種を見いだした(The Veliger誌に出版予定).この新属の解剖学的研究が進めば,その起源が解明される見込みである.
5.パラオの海底洞窟の微小甲殻類の1種を検討した結果,橈脚亜綱カラヌス目のRidgewayia属の1新種であることを明らかにした.この種はインド・太平洋よりも北大西洋や地中海の種に近縁で,カリブ海から西方に分布を延ばしたグループであることが強く示唆された(Species Diversityに掲載済).
6.フィリピンとインド洋のクリスマス島の海底洞窟から,微小甲殻類アミ類の2新種を見いだした(Species Diversity,Journal of Natural Historyにそれぞれ出版予定).
