Research Abstract

2001年国際シンポジウム「ゴンドワナランドの集合・分裂とアジア大陸の成長」の学術面の企画調査に向けて、関係の各個人及び団体間の意見交換と調整、関連テーマの国際シンポジウムヘの参加、研究討論と情報収)集(2回)、国内における研究打合せ会(2回)、外国所究者の招聘(3名)、関係の研究成果集などの編集・発行(7冊)等を行った。科学研究費補助金はこれらの活動実施のために全額が有効に使用された。これらの活動を踏まえて、本国際シンポジウムはユネスコ・IUGS共催事業IGCP No.368,No.411とNo.440が共同主催することとなった。2001年国際シンポジウムのタイトルは「ロディニア・ゴンドワナの形成・分裂とアジア大陸の成長」と決定された。主な分科会テーマとしては、以下の課題が原案として提案された。
(1)ロディニア,ゴンドワナ超大陸の集合と分裂、(2)変動帯の造構過程とアジア大陸の成長、(3)超大陸の造構過程と内陸盆地の形成、(4)ロディニア・ゴンドワナ・アジアのテクトニクスと火成・変成作用、(5)ロディニア・ゴンドワナ・アジアのテクトニクスと鉱化作用、(6)ロディニア・ゴンドワナ・アジアのテクトニクスと地球環境の巨大変動、(7)アジア,太平洋地域の第四紀層序学、(8)アジア,ゴンドワナの環境地質,自然災害,都市地質
また、諸外国の主な研究者を含むアドバイザリーコミティーと、プログラムコミティーの大枠も検討された。今後は、関係の国際会議での意見・情報収集と情宣、分科会内容等のさらなる検討、招待基調講演者の検討などが必要である。この目的のため、新たな企画調査を実施する必要がある。
