| Research Abstract |
Max-Konstantine von Renesse氏を東北大と九大及び佐大に招待し小倉幸雄、富崎松代(奈良女子大・教授)、桑江一洋(横浜市立大・助教授)も参加して小規模の密度の高い研究会を開いた。小倉幸雄教授を中心とする確率論グループとAlexandorov幾何学の研究者達の素晴らしい研究交流が実現した。特に塩谷隆、町頭義郎、猿子幸弘達は多くの優れた研究成果を挙げた。今年度は特にradial curvatureに関する一連の研究成果を得た。町頭義郎(大阪教育大・講師)、塩濱勝博、田中実(東海大学・教授)、糸川銚(福岡工大・教授)達はNeil Katz(外国人特別研究員)、近藤慶(佐賀大学大学院博士後期課程)と完備リーマン多様体のradial curvatureが関数で下から押さえられる多様体の研究を進めた。斯様な条件下でToponogovの比較定理及びAlexandorovの凸性定理を証明した。Toponogovの比較定理については、従来は基点の角度評価が不可能と考えられていたが、町頭義郎氏は、アダマールモデルの場合にこの点を克服して従来の研究成果を書き換えた。我々はモデルがvon Mangoldt回転面の場合にも基点に於ける角度評価が成立する事を証明した。
この結果を応用として非完備リーマン多様体のコンパクト化と最大直径定理を挙げた。近藤慶とNeil Katzは放射曲率を許容するリーマン多様体の位相構造の分類に成功した。
