Research Abstract |
(1) Construction of a database on reorganization strategies of Japanese companies I collected and analyzed the following reorganization strategies in industries such as bank, insurance, steel, electronics and automobile through newspapers, journals, books and internet. 1) integration strategies : M&A, joint holding company, subsidiary company through stock exchange 2) sprit off strategies : sprit off, Management Buy-Out, outsourcing (2) Case studies on unique organization design strategies of Japanese companies as follows 1) MAYEKAWA MFG, LTD : networking strategy using small-sized, independent corporations 2) TAIYO KOUGYO GROUP : cell division or amoeba proliferation strategy 3) MISUMI CORPORATION : outsourcing strategy 4) THE BODY SHOP : social reform strategy 5) BENESSE CORPORATION : visionary strategy (3) Participation in international conferences 1) I participated in the international conference held at Hangzhou in August 27-28, 2001 and discussed some trends of corporate reformations and reorganizations with Chinese professors and managers. 2) I participated in the international conference held at Shanghai in August 28-29, 2002 and made a report of "Organization design and Chinese thought from a viewpoint of paradox approach".
