Research Abstract |
In order to estimate the distribution of site amplification covering all over Japan more accurately, the applicability of the method for estimating the site amplification from the geomorphological conditions is examined. The soil data on shear-wave velocity are collected from every region of Japan. From this data, average shear-wave velocity in the upper 30mof the ground is calculated. Using the Digital National Land Information, the relationship between the average shear-wave velocity and the elevation for each geomorphological condition is examined. The regional variation is found in the relationships for some geomorphological conditions and is incorporated into the method. Accordingly, the average shear-wave velocity estimated from the method considering the regional variation shows better agreement with the measured shear-wave velocity.
