Research Abstract |
A database on non-timber forest products in tropical Asia has been constructed using data from Indian Forester, Indian Forest Records and other information sources. Field research had been carried out in Laos (on yang oil from Dipterocarous alatus, paper mulberry for paper making, and various plants used as natural dye), Thailand (on Miang tea garden), and Myanmar (on bark for tannin). Combing the database and field research, sustainable managements and biodiversity conservations through production of non-timber forest products in tropical Asia had been examined.
