Research Abstract |
The post-operative delirium is a serious problem to include a crisis to cause a medical accident. It participates in human rights problem of a patient in acute period medical care. Post-operative delirium is an experience to be hard for a patient. It is important to care for environment for patient, safety and comfort. The prevention and an early detection of a post-operative delirium are important problems for a Nurse. Therefore a concrete plan of effective nursing intervention is important. The factor of a post-operative delirium was analyzed by contents of a medical and Nursing record of a patient of circulatory surgery ward in Oita University medical Hospital. It was made on the basis of analysis result and used the delirium factor investigation format. As a result, the delirium factor was discovered in postoperative all stages of an objects. And the delirium factor was able to suppose that it was related to anemia and an ischemia and a characteristic of a circulatory organ operation and a change of sudden hospitalization environment. The nursing intervention was carried out for "a change of hospitalization environment" with a family, and it used a pamphlet written about a way of understanding of the post-operative delirium and care of a family. The effect of nursing intervention was able to confirm that uneasiness of a family was reduced. In addition, it was related to the post-operative delirium prevention that a Nurse recognized necessity of nursing intervention since pre-operation. This investigation has a problem to evaluate of a nursing intervention method by an quasi-experiment design or an experiment design.
