Research Abstract	導波路型波長選択光スイッチング集積回路、交換器に関し検討を行い、良好な成果が得られた。 1.弾性表面波(SAW)-光相互作用による集積型スイッチ素子の検討 1.5μm帯の素子としてTi02およびプロトン交換を光導波路とした素子構成について素子設計および波長選択スイッチング特性を評価した。プロトン交換導波路としてアニールした導波路を用いた場合、SAW周波数の光波長依存性が大きくなり、狭帯域フィルタの実現が期待できる。波長選択スイッチングにおいて、相互作用領域における音響効果の重みづけによりサイドローブを低減する方法を示した。スイッチング速度を高速化するため、SAW伝搬速度の速い基板による、SAW周波数2GHz以上を用いる素子を理論的に検討した。また、A0光分波素子のFDTDシミュレーションを検討し、通信波長帯で設計した素子における波長分波・時間応答特性を示した。さらに、コリニア音響光学素子集積回路によるWDM光交換システムおよび光交換器を構成するための波長選択マトリクススイッチについて検討した。 2.マイクロ波静磁表面波(MSSW)-光相互作用による高速スイッチ素子の検討 MSSWによる磁気光学効果を用いたスイッチング素子として、GGG基板上にCeドープYIG単結晶薄膜を作製し、膜の結晶性およびファラデー回転角等の基礎特性を評価した。Ceを添加することによりスイッチ素子長が1/3に小型化できることを明らかにした。また、新しい構造の高速スイッチ素子として、3次元導波路による素子構成について理論解析を行った。GGG基板上に成長CeYIGとBiYIGの多層構造を利用することにより、MSSWパワー密度25mW/mm、相互作用長88mmにおいて100%の光モード変換が可能であることを明らかにした。また、MSSWによって誘起される光位相シフトを利用した光スイッチ素子について検討を行った。解析結果より、光スイッチ素子の開発が十分期待できる、0.8rad/mmの評価が得られた。 3.増幅素子の広帯域化とスイッチ素子・交換器との集積化の検討 Er-Yb共添加ガーネット結晶薄膜を用いた導波路型光増幅素子の静的増幅特性の理論解析により、単位長さあたりで高い増幅利得が示され、素子の小型化・高利得化が実現できることを明らかにした。また、入力矩形パルスに対する動的増幅特性の理論解析結果、ナノ、ピコ秒オーダの入力パルスでは、出力パルス波形が変形せずに増幅可能であることを示した。 WDM波長選択スイッチングの高効率化、小型化、集積化について、今後さらに検討する必要があるが、この成果をもとに、さらに高度な研究開発展開が可能となった。
