Research Abstract |
For the past two decades, the measurement system of the unsteady waves have been developed rapidly However, it is mainly point measurement system. In this study, image analysis methods using remote sensing were tried to get the wave distribution on one plane simultaneously and to get time history of plane data. First, the unsteady waves in the incident wave was measured by using projected light distribution method. From the images of projected light distributions, the unsteady wave could be reconstructed The higher accuracy was obtained by least square method. Secondly, the wave gradient was computed from the reflected light distribution images. The wave distribution is reconstructed by line integral. The wave can be measured by using random images or color distribution image. After investigating what kind of image is suitable for measurement, suitable width of histogram and number of particles were decided. The results agreed well with point measurement data or theory. To apply the present method to the phenomena in the nature, some ocean model computation method was developed and computed to simulate the images.
