Research Abstract |
The purpose of this research was the elucidation of the existence form of the Ise Shrine in the early modern latter term, and did investigation, research from the following three dimensions. 1. The collection of the historical materials related to the Imperial Court and an examination were done. A change in relations of the shogunate, Imperial Court and Ise Shrine was chased by this investigation. Specially, investigation was done around the Tenmei-Kansei era when a close-up was taken of the Imperial Court existence. The shogunate, Imperial Court both raised ranking of the Ise Shrine gradually, and it became clear that a change concerning germination in the policy to face in the Ise Shrine as that result. 2. Investigation about the trend inside the Ise Shrine was done. The diary of the chief Shinto priest in the Ise Shrine was investigated, and it searched for the trend inside the Ise Shrine. Behavior as a Shinto priest group which has different individual logic and interest is being made clear with the Imperial Court and the mentor, group as well from a result of investigation. 3. The restoration of the political and social environment around the Ise Shrine has been done with absorbing the result of the city history research in recent years. The one of the restoration method is the dynamic analysis of the Onshi (religion persons). For example, a decrease in Onshi seen eighteen centuries remarkably from the latter half suggests the ground subsidence of religion city Ise. This requires that a religion city should be caught again as for the stages of history. This research project should be continues, and a future research subject is to do a concrete examination about the existence form of the Ise Shrine in the stage nineteen centuries with being based on these results.
