| Research Abstract |
離散幾何学の中でも特に、点集合の分割と点集合によって誘導される凸体の存在性について研究を進めており、本年度は特に以下の2つの研究に関して論文発表等を行った。
第一の問題は、点集合の凸多角形への分割である。これは1996年に専門誌Discrete Applied Mathematicsに掲載された論文で、その後この中の未解決問題を国内外の多くの研究者と討論を交わし、2001年この評価式を改良した論文を国際誌に発表した。そして2002年8月に中国で開催された会議:International Congress of Mathematicians 2002-Satellite Conference on Combinatoricsにて論文発表した。更に開催地であるHebei Normal Universityの研究者と共同研究を行い、その際当られた関連問題に関する新しい結果を2002年12月に国際会議で発表、この論文は今年度Discrete and Computational Geometry : Lecture Notes in Computer Scienceに掲載された。
次の問題は、"任意に与えられた点集合に対して、内包する点数が最大の三角形を決定する問題"である。この問題は2002年の国際会議終了後、研究分担者の細野氏他の研究者達と新たに定義した問題で、その結果を2003年9月にインドネシアで開催された国際会議で講演した。この論文はDiscrete and Computational Geometry : Lecture Notes in Computer Scienceに投稿、2004年3月に受理された。
