Research Abstract |
We researched the dental treatment status situation about the people with HIV/AIDS (PHA,n=140). There were 8 dental private offices which has treated PHA were agreement with our study. The PHA's age of this research was distributed from 19 to 73 peaked in 30s ages, it was co-related with PHA population, the ratio of male and female was 6:1. Their CD4 level showed 60% of more than 201, which their systematic condition were good level. Although there was no AIDS specified oral disease, the cause by caries, periodontal disease and pulptitis took 85%. There was no significant deference regarding oral disese between non-PHA and PHA. Dental treatment including the operation, which like extraction was parity to non-PHA, too. The ratio of oral dental treatment period was 36% of less than 10 days, 64% was over 11 days. Expecting to increase number and disperse to local area of PHA, this research proposes strongly to introduce dental offices in local area smoothly, to establish cooperation among each medical support and to inform the latest information of oral condition.
