Research Abstract |
1.Twelve healthy volunteers who received intravenous administration of propofol at a dose of 6mg/kg/h for 5min. And 3mg/kg/h for 85min. Were evaluated sedative effect using BIS monitor and tested qualitatively and quantitatively for their equilibrium function. The values of BIS were correlated with sedation scores during the study. The recovery of equilibrium function were not complete though the value of BIS were normal. 2.To investigate the usefulness of BIS monitor during intravenous sedation, ten patients with intellectual disability were evaluated sedative effect using BIS monitor during dental treatment under intravenous sedation with propofol. The values of BIS after dental treatment were correlated with recovery time. The results of study suggest that BIS monitor is very useful to evaluate the sedative effect under the intravenous sedation with propofol during the dental treatment.
