Research Abstract |
In the measurement of blood pressure by ausculatory method using Hg-tonometer, we measure systolic/diastolic pressure by hearing the appearance and vanish of Korotkoff sound. We usually assume that the values obtained from Korotkoff sound approximately correspond to the systolic/diastolic pressure. In the known previous researches, Korotkoff souhd is caused by the vibration of a vessel and the change of blood flow. Then, we studied the relationship between Korotkoff sound (pattern) and the state of the blood vessel. In addition, using the results, we developed the CAI system for medical education. In the 1st year, we researched the literature on the analysis of Korotkoff sound and evaluated the way of data taking by electric stethoscope and the measuring condition. The Korotkoff sounds were collected all over the age. The possibility of classification of Korotkoff pattern was studied. Using the obtained sound data and an animation tool, the hearing simulator of Korotkoff sound was developed. In the result, it was shown that such a simulator was effectively for the education of essential nursing technique. In the 2nd year, the possibility of classification of Korotkoff pattern was continuously studied. In the static and the dynamic body conditions, Korotkoff pattern roughly showed a certain pattern during recursive measurements. But it was found that an individual variations of the pattern is not small. The result suggests that the known classification of Korotkoff patterns has to be evaluated again. In the last year, we analyzed the frequency of Korotkoff sound and studied the property and the reproduction of the distribution pattern. In the results, it was found that the distribution patterns had usually general three peaks in the range of 50 -300Hz. It is suggested that modulation of Korotkoff sound and the character is mainly caused by the higher two peaks. These results will be reflected in our CAI in near future.
