Research Abstract |
We developed a system to train student teachers in the cycle of design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of a lesson in a consistent fashion. We developed the system by following steps. Firstly, we developed a server client type" Lesson Support System "which operates on Windows OS. This system can distribute various contents from a teacher's computer to each learner's computer and show them on each screen. Furthermore, the system can collect responses from learners. Secondly, we revise "Training System for Instructional Design" which had run on Windows OS and been impossible to access via the Internet to a Web application. During this revision, we needed to solve a problem of the copyright of a textbook database. Therefore, we examined how to generate teaching-materials automatically corresponding to teacher's intentions. rating the "Web-based Training System for Instructional Design" and the "Lesson Support System". This system has six main functions as followings : 1) Distributing teaching materials described in instructional plan to students. 2) Generating a response form automatically and sending it to every student. 3) Collecting and analyzing their responses. 4) Showing the results and giving advices for the teacher at that time. 5) Sending an alternative teaching material corresponding to students' responses if it is prepared in the instructional plan. 6) Showing the summary of instructional activities after the lesson. Finally, we conducted experiment in a teacher-training class to evaluate the "Web-based Training System for Instructional Design" and the "Training System for Teaching Activities. "We got results such as "Web-based Training System for Instructional Design" is convenient to use anytime and anywhere but its interface is necessary to improve, and the "Training System for Teaching Activities" is useful to improve a instructional plan.
