Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
- Three of my articles (see below) have been published since April 1st, 2014. The Cardiovascular Disease Ontology I have been developping with colleagues has received the first prize of the ontology competition at the conference FOIS2014. - I have edited a volume for the Review of Philosophy and Psychology on the topic of Nudges, with Till Grune-Yanoff (from KTH University), which includes ten articles from experts of various disciplines, as well as an article of ourselves presenting the debates on the philosophy of nudges, with the title ‘From libertarian paternalism to nudges - and beyond.’ (publication scheduled for December 2015). - I have submitted an article to the International Conference in Biomedical Ontologies, to be held in Lisbon in July 2015, which has been accepted for presentation and publication. - I have submitted two articles to the journal Lato Sensu: one about the connection between philosophy and biomedical applied ontologies, and one about the ontological status of diagnostic probabilities in medicine.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I had a productive research activity and managed to submit and publish several papers on a variety of topics. My research was acknowledged by the international community on ontologies, which awarded to our Cardiovascular Disease Ontology the status of winner of the Ontology Competition at FOIS2014.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
- Formalizing the notions of speed and acceleration, in the continuation of my article on the ontology of Newtonian forces. - Clarifying the ontological status of physical causation, with an analysis of causality independent of reference frames. - Investigating the compatibility between two models of disease: the River-Flow Model and the Ontology for General Medical Science. - Continuation of my work on the philosophy of nudges.
