Research Abstract |
Data collection of discharge, radar data, isotope data. and meteorological data. As well as information of research area, concerning : geology, topography, soil and landuse. According to the research need, required methods have been used for reforming the relative data and information. Special data for distributed model have been prepared. A tracer-aided tank model as well as sensitivity testing method has been successfully applied, which consider the surface water, subsurface water and meteorological water. To apply the lumped model on a meso-scale catchment means a lot for local residents, and helpful for further management referring other environmental issues. New findings are summarized as follows : 1. The predominant factor controlling temporal variability of MTT is precipitation amount, which is helpful for better understanding, control and management of the water resource and material transported in environmental. 2. Long-term MTT values correlated with mean slope, coverage of Mesozoic sand stone/shale, coverage of forest, evaporation, interception and storage, which is important for understanding the mechanism and impact factors of MTT and TTD.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The research aims are mainly achieved, however, unexpected difficulties are always on the way to success. The capability of mine is still improving. More effort will be paid out.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
For getting the comparison of transit time results, distributed model is needed, however, there might be necessary to find more profitable software. Till now, software named SWAT and MIKE-SHE are both under consideration. More data preparation might be necessary.
