Research Abstract |
During three years of research period, we had several meetings and 6 research discussion meetings. The discussion meetings were held as follows: (1)September 2002, "The Methodology of Theatre History," Mori, Mitsuya Odanaka, Akihiro (2)March 2003, "Japanese Traditional Theatre History," Omano, Fumio Hayashi, Kimiko Mori, Mitsuya (3)September 2003, "French and American Theatre History," Odanaka, Akihi o Kusuhara, Tomoko (4)March 2004, "German and Russian Theatre History," Yamashita, Sumiteru Nagata, Yasushi (5)September 2004, "Modern Japanese Theatre History," Kamiya, Akira Kikukawa, Tokunosuke (6)December 2004, The General Discussion, All Members We have found that very few theatre history books in the past had a clear concept of methodology.. To construct the methodology of Comparative Theatre History, we have to make more research on other history books and the philosophy of history.
