Research Abstract |
1 Result of survey We analyzed the findings of the questionnaire survey as the final year of the project, and summarized the three-year project. (1)Result of questionnaire survey : It was a problem that Japanese do not have concrete situation recognition and recognition of other people and educational contents were not connected with concrete practices. On the other hand, in Thailand, consciousness about "human rights," "peace," and "global issues" was weak, while the characteristics at the local and national level are emphasized. (2)Proposal to citizenship education of Japan and Thailand : For the two countries, based on the viewpoint of theory analysis, policy analysis, curriculum analysis, analysis of the teacher training, and the analysis of the result of questionnaire survey, we proposed what both countries should pay attention to and improve. As for the study of citizenship, more accumulation of theory study and practice-study is necessary. (3)Study unit model : Based on a general idea of citizenship, characteristics of citizenship, findings of questionnaire survey and proposals to both countries, we suggested the learning unit model in an elementary school, a junior high school, and high school. The units are on human rights, peace, environment, and development. Each unit consists of 17-18 hours. In addition, we suggested a learning process model in each unit. 2 Presentation at academic society The Japanese Comparative Education Society(at Nagoya University, June 26-27,2004) and World Comparative Society(Cuba, October 25-29,2004) 3 Publication of Research Result We published the results of research for three years as a final report.
