Research Abstract |
In the present research proposal, we propose the following new frameworks to a, call for the elimination of Asian digital divide in educations ; and b, establish new educational system for 21^<st> century, c, contribute to the efficient construction of Asian university network. (1)Building satellite network system emulating WINDS We have build a WIND-emulation network system in order to understand the requirements of e-learning platform under both mesh-type and band-sharing environments. (2)Building multi-points distant learning system Under the satellite network system in (1), we construct a multi-point distant learning system by implementing distant learning IP application software entitled"Sky-Cast Lesson"developed by KDDI. When we use IP application under satellite network system, due to the time-delay caused by satellite link or the load-imbalance between different sites, it is difficult to obtain a uniform network resource and qualities and thus numerous problems will occur by the characteristics of satellite network systems. Sky-cast lesson can provide a stable pilot experimental platform with ease because it is implemented as the satellite network system. In addition to this system environment, the LMS (Learning Management System) that is the portal system for education are constructed and we develop some courseware under the system. This fiscal year, we also experimented and succeed in the antennas construction in Thai and Malaysia. We also succeeded in network tests of Thai/Malaysia<-> Japan, and Japan<->Thai/Malaysia streaming.
