1. This research considered chronologically the peculiarity of the cultural concepts in Germany from the 18th century enlightenment to around immediately after the World War I end. Kultur differentiated with Bildung and Zivilisation, and collaborated with them in Germany. Kultur has been ideologized except the century turning point in the 19th century to the 20th century. 2. I followed the developments in which German Kulturwissenschaft was completed from the English Cultural Studies from the cultural philosophy in early the 20th century to birth of the Kulturwissenschaft at the end of the 20th century. German Kulturwissenschaft adopted six ideas from English and American Cultural Studies : (1) extension of Kultur concepts,(2) relativism of Kultur in capital letters,(3) culture as text,(4) anti-essentialism,(5) bricolage of theories and (6) plurality of objects, and it didn't adopt six ideas from English and American Cultural Studies : (1) esteeming of working class's cultural products,(2) political awareness,(3) political practice,(4) social determinations,(5) criticism on text-centrism and (6) human as actor. 3. The final question of this research was what the foreign literature researches in Japan from Kulturwissenschaft and media theory can learn. The premise for building the cultural study of a japanese version was summarized to the following six points : (1) an cultural object is built ex post,(2) culture can be read as a text,(3) a history model is delinearized and arranged in spatial relations,(4) a hyper-text is made from memories and records,(5) media format experience and(6) culture is to find out constellations.
