Research Abstract |
In the 21st Century, it becomes very important to search for the design method suitable for post industrial age. We must to recognize that the role of design is not only to create new artifacts but also to construct abundant relationships between man and environment. The objective of this research is to clarify the design principle of man-environment system, and to develop interactive design environments to support such design principle. The main results are as follows. 1.We collected the macro design processes to inquire design conditions and to investigate the consequences of design (ex. life cycle design, townscape design, and prototype design), and searched for the design principle of man-environment system. 2.We focused on the townscape design, and clarify the conditions of domain-oriented interactive design environment to support its design process. 3.A townscape design i s to change the existing environment. Therefore we constructed the database of townscape to investigate the shift of environment. 4.We developed the interactive design environment for collaboration by means of linking action space and reflection space dynamically. 5.We tried to apply the design environment to design of the townscape of historical city Kyoto as a case study.
