Research Abstract |
1)To examine the blue cone electroretinogram, we developed the blue LED built-in contact lens electrode. 2)Responses from the blue cone were clearly and repeatedly recorded from normal human eyes using this new electrode. 3)Temporal frequency characteristics obtained from the electroretinogram was quite similar those reported in previous psychophysical studies. 4)Smaller contact lenses were developed for rabbit eyes, and the blue cone electroretinograms were successfully recorded. 5)Electroretinograms were examined in patients with various retinal diseases, such as X-linked retinoschisis and multiple evanescent white dot syndrome, to study retinal function, in order to compare with those m experimental animals.
