Research Abstract |
The aim of this study was to develop CAI(Computer Assisted Instruction) teaching material to promote the ability of medical malpractice prevention. It is necessary that nurses have the risk foresee ability to prevent the medical malpractice. The risk foresee ability rose by piling an education and individual learning. The trait of this study was to pay attention to "Risk foresee ability" and "Learning from the failure". To start with our study, we investigated 109 cases of the medical accidents and incidents to construct basic data of the content of the teaching material. It emerged that the main factor of the accidents and incidents were "Lack of a risk foresee ability". Next, we conducted the investigation concerning a risk in a clinical setting to clarify the risk foresee ability of clinical nurses and nursing students. As a result, it was more difficult for nursing students to image concretely the risky situation, the cause of the malpractice, the influence of the risk. Based on these findings we made paper simulation and after that we tried to make the CAI teaching system experimentally. The system contains two parts, the one part for students/learners and the other part for teachers/administrator. After uploaded the system to web page, we recruited the students who want to use the CAI teaching system. The system was evaluated by 32 nursing students. It had been shown to be useful as a teaching material for the individual learning through the feedback from over 80% of the nursing students.
