Research Abstract |
This research has a purpose of creating learning materials for the kinetics and building a learning-environment on the Web. The learning-environment consists of the kinetic simulators, the communication tools and the problems collection. In 2002, we took up "a simple pendulum" and "a monkey hunting" as the learning themes. We developed those simulators, graph drawing tool and calculation tool by using Java2 SDK 1.4.0. And we supplied a bulletin board system and a web chat system to the learners. In this learning environment, the learner can study on his/her own initiative by using the kinetic simulator. And the learner can do cooperative learning with the co-learners. In 2003, we increased the learning theme and added a new function to the BBS. The function is to search a similar question automatically from the past log at the BBS in order to reduce the similar writing. Furthermore, we supplied the learners with AI Chat system. So the learner can do cooperative learning with the pseudo co-learner (agent) even if the co-learner does not exist. In this learning environment, the learner can reduce the incomprehensible point and avoid a stalemate by discussing with the human co-learners and pseudo co-learners. In 2004, we made Web-based problems collection of physics experimentally. The problems collection is categorized by the unit and the difficulty level of each problem based on the printed problems collection. The learner can retrieve the problem by the free keyword. Teacher can add a new problem to the collection, and the learner can submit his/her own problem too. Moreover, the learner can write the comment to each problem. In this environment, the learner can fix the knowledge that acquired in the initiative learning and cooperative learning.
