Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1. Implications of the field-theoretic approach to the perfect fluid. Towards the end of the previous fiscal year a reformulation of the perfect fluid was developed. This time, we further expand on the consequences this formalism. Our field-theoretic description allows for the creation and annihilation of fluid itself even within the classical framework; for instance, some class of gauge coupling enables to describe the radiation and absorption of the gauge field accompanied by the change of the intrinsic-mass energy of fluid. We have found that the Lagrangian density governing the dynamics of the fluid contains four phases and incompressible states, two of which are stable. These novel phases are allowed without violation of causality and are discussed within the context of a two-fluid systems. Results were presented at COSMO-16 and are to be submitted for publication.
2. Leptogenesis in Chern-Simons modified gravity In this part, we concentrate on tests of dynamical Chern-Simons (CS) modified gravity, which is currently only weakly constrained by binary pulsar observations. dCS gravity has also been shown to lead to a theory with torsion, in the presence of fermions this torsion corrections result into new two-fermion point interactions. This interaction, mediated by the axial current, was studied in the problem of neutrino-antineutrino asymmetry during the inflationary period. The net particle per helicity was calculated and translated into baryon asymmetry, this quantity dependent on the theta-parameter is constrained by WMAP observations on baryogenesis, work in progress.
