Research Abstract

充填スクッテダイトのみならず,I型クラスレートやβ-パイロクロアなどの一連のカゴ状化合物についてのラマン散乱測定から,大きなカゴに中の小さなゲスト原子は大振幅の振動であり,これが4次の非調和項によることを実験的に明らかにした。また,カゴ自身もゲスト原子の運動で大きく歪むことがROs4Sb12で得られた。また,熱電材料の無次元性能指数ZTが1に近い実用可能な物質もスクッテルダイトやクラスレートで発見した。特に,高性能熱電性能には,ゲスト原子の非中心位置での回転運動が重要であることを初めて解明した。
