Research Abstract |
To analyze the relationship of spouses in Japan, we did intensive surveys of divorced persons and did large scale survey in Tokyo and Osaka(we got about 1000samples) Main results of this research are below. 1.Companionship behaviors of Japanese spouses are fewer than American spouses in general. But the few companionship behaviors and few sex relationships doesn't mean the deficit of intimacy between spouses in Japan. Confident and helpful relationship can be maintained even in the lack of companionship behaviors. Japanese spouses tend to express their love not by direct behaviors but other styles. 2.There are divides between romantic love and intimate relationship of spouses. And there are gender differences about it Men tend to seek romantic love after marriage 3.In the survey divorced persons tend to expect high levels of the spouse's love expressions than not divorced spouses or unmarried persons. And divorced women tend to attribute their reasons of divorce to husband's low income. So the recent instability of male's wage effects the increase of divorces in Japan.
