Research Abstract

In this research I would try to understand of Spinoza's theory of objects and conatus(principle of self-preservation).
1.Through comparing Spinoza with Hobbes, in Spinoza's theory of objects, conatus(principle of self-preservation) signifies essence of thing in itself.
2.Through comparing Spinoza with Descartes, Spinoza's theory of objects accepts that attribute of extension is infinite and substantial.
3.I translated Latin text of infinity in Heereboord's Meletemata philosophica and Suarez's Disputationes Metaphysicae into Japanese.
4.The point of Spinoza's theory of objects is that Spinoza understands God as infinite and substantial being.
