Research Abstract |
Sohgi is one of the greatest poets and writers in Japanese literary history. He made enormous works including Renga 100 chained poems, 1000 chained poems, the books about Renga theory in his long life. As a basic research for making the collected works oh Sohgi, I researched collected and carefully compared the various texts of Sohgi's "WAKURABA" and "SHITAKUSA", the books of his own selected TUKEKU and HOKKU. No.1 : I collected various versions of "WAKURABA" & "SITAKUSA" by photocopy and carefully checked the differences among them. I also classified them four groups. Although I was going to choose the most immportant text and to make all other versions commpare, as a result of my examination, I decided to choose two different versions in each groups and made a commplete lists to contrast those two books. No.2 : I found a interesting subject about the fourth version including Sohgi's foot notes and a notes by Socyo, Sohgi's student. The book has many differences on numbers of poems, on orders of poems and on the contents. We still have to reseach the version. No.3 : I Collected many versions of SITAKUSA. But I did not finish the work. No.4 : I reprinted two versions from each books of WAKURABA. Using this chart, we can easily check of versions.
