Research Abstract |
1 Area-wide Planning of Waste Management and the Efficiency of Waste Collection System The purpose of this study was to consider the waste collection efficiency for the area-wide planning of waste treatment and disposal. On the municipal solid waste management, we analyzed the optimal scale on areal integration, considering the collection efficiency, and showed the most suitable combination of waste treatment scenarios at each of the integrated areas. 2 Reverse Logistics of Electric Home Appliance Recycling and Its Optimization The purpose of this study was to optimize the planning of reverse logistics for the recycling system of electric household appliance. We proposed the genetic algorithms with linear programming (GALP) to solve the facility location problem and the transportation problem. Firstly, we considered the collection system as a network model. And we conducted a case study of Tokyo, it was revealed that the application of GALP was useful for the solution of the combinatorial optimization problem in the field of reverse logistics. 3 Proposal for Establishing the Sludge Integrated Management System of Water and Sewage Works and the Feasibility Study Toward the establishment of the Recycling-based Society, we proposed a sludge integrated management system and researched on the efficient sludge treatment and disposal. What we have done is as follows: (1) a proposal of the integrated system for the sludge treatment and disposal of water and sewage works, and (2) an evaluation of the economic efficiency of the sludge integrated management system.
