Research Abstract |
Results described below could be obtained, such that new control mechanism of CMS induction may obtain by the present experiment.. 1. Three genome molecules were found and made clear the structures. The contents were published. 2. The induction mechanism is not coming from mt genome recombination but heteroplasmic genome existence and the shift among those at stoichiometric shift.. 3. The CMS induction and stoichiometric shifts were induced both by chimera synthesis and protoplast fusion processes. 4. These inductive Ogura-type of CMS included base changes and minor structural changes. The facts suggested the new CMS induction possibility. 5. In the present study, mt genome and the related molecule changes were mainly shown. In addition, the homologous genome changes, especially heteroplasmic molecule (genome) existence and the shift with CMS occurred in chloroplast genome, suggesting whole control cytoplasmic genomes with nuclear genome. New research on the systematic genome change must be studied. 6. Restoration ability has not been found in B.rapa and B.oleracea. That disrupted the mechanism research and application. One urgent necessity exists in the Rf gene introduction for the control Ogura-CMS by using cell fusion or intergeneric cross.
