Research Abstract |
PURPOSE A study of three-dimensional representation in the field of art. By exploring the differences and possibilities of analog (hand wrought) representations and digital (computerized) representations, the basic research is to procure a representation of art. METHOD Research in 2003 : Three-dimensional representation in virtual space and consideration after data collecting. 1)Collecting data of the human body and human head using 3-D Range Finder Scanner. Zero gravity experiment in aircraft with JAXA(Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) as a joint research. Examine and compare the difference : Obtaining the three-dimensional form data of the human head under zero gravity and the human body form data as well as the human head form data under the force of gravity. Obtaining the 3-D data of the movement of a walking human being. Research in 2004 : A study of 3-D molding using the computerized molding system. A combined study of 3-D scanned live-action data and forms produced by the computerized forming method. Finding a new way of production and representational connection by comparing different methods of molding production, and to study the potentiality of digital representation in formative arts. Compiling the digital information of ancient cultural objects into database for further studies. A study on ceramic foundry : A search for a new method of foundry by using digital data for bronze sculpturing. RESULT By comparing digital (computerized) productions in a virtual space environment with analog (hand wrought) productions using natural materials, new productive methods have come to realization.
