Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The goals of the study are (i) to compare the income and asset between participants of intervention and control group, (ii) to investigate and compare the food security situation for both intervention and control groups, (iii) to evaluate the environment friendly livelihood practices for both intervention and standard micirofinance groups and (iv) finally, to suggest a policy mix to social capital formation and poverty alleviation. In response to the research objectives, four surveys (baseline survey 2013, annual surveys 2014, 2015 and final survey 2016) data in four study location were collected.
The extended abstract entitled “District, Division and Regional Distribution of Arsenic Polluted Households and Policy Implications in Bangladesh” has been publish in the Arsenic Research and Global Sustainability: Proceedings of the Sixth International Congress on Arsenic in the Environment published by CRC Press pp. 572-73. Moreover, The paper entitled “Spatial Modeling of Poverty and Policy Implications in South Asia: Evidence from Bangladesh" has been presented in the 63th Annual North American Meetings of the Regional Science Association International, Minneapolis, MN, USA, November 9-12, 2016.

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
Draft report of a paper entitled “Effectiveness of Holistic Community Development on Sanitation Improvement and Women Empowerment of Self Help Group: Evidence from Panel Data” has been made.
We found that the intervention through community development program of self help group is statistically significantly positively associated with sanitary technology and women improvement by using Difference in Difference Ordinary Least Square and Fixed Effects Models. Moreover, the result indicates that female headed households are equally likely to adopt the intervention technologies.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
We are revising the paper entitled "Effectiveness of Holistic Community Development on Sanitation Improvement and Women Empowerment of Self Help Group: Evidence from Panel Data". We hope that We will submit it in the world development after revise.
As well as we are preparing the paper entitled "A Spatial Panel Modeling in Health Environment: An Evidence from the Use of Improved Sanitation and Drinking Water Sources" to present at the XIth World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association (SEA2017), to be held in Singapore, June 13-15.
In addition, we are planning to visit the study locations for our survey in June in order to share the findings from our required.
