Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research achievements in line with the proposed research works in FY 2016 are as follows: (i) two conference papers which are presented at 2016 IIOA conference and 2016 SEEPS conference respectively; (ii) the improvement of the low carbon technologies (LCT) extended 2011 OECD IO table using newly available data was finished and (iii) one abstract conference related with assessment of socio, economic, trade and environment of selected trade policy (reducing tariffs) on global value chains of LCT transfers in Japan, Germany, USA and Indonesia was accepted at the upcoming of the 2017 International Input-Output Conference. The improvements of the LCT extended 2011 OECD IO table consist of expansion of coverage of LCT in model and disaggregation ratios used to single-out LCT related industries using newly available data. The list of environmental or LCT based on WTO list was included in the coverage of LCT of the model. Then the list of LCT was also further grouped in line with LCT categories of Japan, Germany and USA. In addition, disaggregation ratios used to single-out the LCT related industries from 2011 OECD IO table was also updated using newly available data. To complement the results of quantitative analysis, two research trips to Indonesia were conducted in August 2016 and March 2017 to get insight and deeper understanding on policies and process for transferring specific technologies from Japan, Germany and USA to Indonesia as selected case study. The final version of planned journal manuscript in FY 2016 is expected to be finished by the end of May 2017.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
In my self evaluation, I see a certain level of the progress for research achievements during April 2016 to March 2017. Two conference papers were presented as results of quantitative analysis of research. The submitted conference abstract for the 2016 ADB Clean Energy Forum was unsuccessful. However, another conference paper about global trade network of low carbon technologies and ASEAN economic integration was presented at 2016 SEEPS Conference. In addition, the improvement of low carbon technologies extended 2011 OECD IO table was finished using newly available data. The final of LCT extended 2011 OECD IO table is a core model for quantitative parts of research. The results of two research trips in Indonesia provide insight and deeper understanding on policies and mechanisms used by Japan, Germany and USA for transferring two specific low carbon technologies (turbine and chiller) to Indonesia. These are as complements for quantitative parts of research.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
The research targets for remaining of research periods during FY 2017 are as follows: (i) finishing two journal papers; (ii) finishing two conference papers and (iii) construction of the extension of 2011 OECD IO table with environmental account (emissions) using purchased GTAP 9 database.
