Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、EAR等に次世代衛星ビーコン観測を組合せ、全地球大気モデルを活用することで、電離圈の時間・空間構造を解明する。4つの課題を設定している。
課題1:次世代衛星ビーコン観測に対応するディジタル受信システムの開発、課題2:EARと衛星ビーコン観測による空間スケール数百~数千kmの電離圏構造の解明、課題3:EAR長期間観測データを用いた太陽活動度変動に対する電離圏構造の変動解析、課題4:シミュレーションを活用した電離圏大気圏相互結合の解明
平成28~29年度の研究実績は、課題1について、新しい4周波数受信機の開発を進めた。アンテナ開発の論文が1件ある(松永, 2017)。ディジタル受信部とアンテナ部の開発を終えてそれぞれの性能評価を行った。平成30年度当初に米国における全体試験を予定している。課題2では、高度150kmに発生する電離圏擾乱の研究(Patra他, 2017; Pavan他, 2017)、2015年3月17-18日の磁気嵐によるESFの研究(Chunhua他, 2017)、東南アジアにおけるGPS測位の航空利用についての研究(Saito et al, 2017)等が行われた。課題3ではEAR長期連続観測を成功裏に継続し、ESFの統計解析が進められ(Tulasiram他, 2015)、ESFによる地球磁力線の変動に関する研究(Yokoyama and Stolle, 2017)、真夜中過ぎのESF現象に関しても更に論文が得られた(Dao他, 2017)。課題4では、実際の気象データに基づく全地球大気モデルを用いた研究が進展した(Huixin他, 2017など)。EAR観測やGPS衛星観測との比較から、下層大気の変動がESF現象に与える影響について論文発表した(Yamamoto他, 2018)。その他、多様な研究成果が得られた。

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

平成27~28年度の論文が25編(昨年に報告済)であったが、平成29年度の論文発表数も20編(うち国際共著が14編)に達しており、課題2~4については、非常に順調で、この部分では、当初の予定を超えた成果が得られていると言って良い。しかしながら、課題1の新しい衛星ビーコン波の受信機開発については遅れがあるため年度繰越を行って開発を継続し、全体システムをほぼ完成することができた。ビーコン衛星TBExおよびCOSMIC-2の打上げについて、打上げロケットの準備がようやく整い、平成30年には打上げられる見通しである。今後は東南アジア各地への受信機配備を進めて衛星の打上げ後すぐに観測を開始して行く。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

上記の通り、ビーコン衛星TBExおよびCOSMIC-2の打上げについて、打上げロケットの都合から遅れが発生している。現在のところ、打上げは2018年とされており、関係者と調整して研究を推進していく。他の課題についてはこれまで通りに推進する。
