Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、EAR等に次世代衛星ビーコン観測を組合せ、全地球大気モデルを活用することで、電離圈の時間・空間構造を解明する。4つの課題を設定している。
課題1：次世代衛星ビーコン観測に対応するディジタル受信システムの開発、課題2：EARと衛星ビーコン観測による空間スケール数百～数千kmの電離圏構造の解明、課題3：EAR長期間観測データを用いた太陽活動度変動に対する電離圏構造の変動解析、課題4：シミュレーションを活用した電離圏大気圏相互結合の解明、である。
2018～2019年度の研究により当初の目的をほぼ達成することができた。課題1について4周波数受信機の開発を進め2018年5月に米国SRI Internationalにおいて衛星送信機（実機と同等の送信機）からの信号を受信する全体試験を実施した。2019年3月からタイ・ベトナム・インドネシアへの受信機設置を開始した。待望の衛星打上げが2019年6月に行われ、9月初旬にFORMOSAT-7/COSMI-2衛星からの2周波ビーコン電波が送信された。地上の観測点における受信を即時に開始し、以降は安定的な観測に成功している。2019年12月26日に発生した金環日食による電離圏電子密度の減少の観測にも成功した。課題2では、多様な観測データに基づく電離圏構造の研究が実施された。具体的には、成層圏に発生する突然昇温現象が電離圏に与える影響の解明、オーストラリアから日本までの電波伝搬実験に基づく電離圏構造の解析、東南アジアにおけるGPS測位の航空利用についての研究、等である。課題3ではEAR長期連続観測を成功裏に継続し、ESFの統計解析を進めた。課題4では、ESF非線形モデルから数m/sの鉛直風であってもESFが発生しうることが示された。GPS衛星観測とGAIAの比較から下層大気の変動がESF現象に与える影響を統計的に示すことに成功した。
