Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、惑星磁気圏に普遍的な相対論的電子加速モデルを構築することを目的として、加速過程を担うホイッスラーモード・コーラス放射の発生過程を電子ハイブリッド・MHD連成計算により再現し、コーラス放射の波動特性と電子加速効率を究明する。
研究計画最終年度となる平成29年度は、継続して実施してきたコーラス放射発生条件に関するサーベイ計算の結果を用いたデータベースの構築を完了した。特に、電子ハイブリッドシミュレーションにより得られた、初期条件として与える高エネルギー電子の速度分布と発生するコーラス放射との関連に着目したデータセットが整備された。この結果に基づいてまとめた研究成果は、学術論文として発表した他、国内外での学会・研究集会で公表した。さらに、擾乱時の地球磁気圏および木星磁気圏のガニメデ衛星軌道近傍での背景磁場・プラズマ環境を対象とした連成計算の結果をまとめて、国内外での学会・研究集会で成果を報告した。国際学会での招待講演を行うなど高い評価を受けた。
本研究の成果は、2016年12月に打ち上げられたジオスペース探査衛星あらせによる地球放射線帯領域でのコーラス放射と相対論的電子との相互作用過程の理解にも大きく貢献することが期待されており、本課題成果の波及効果に関して複数の招待講演と多数の国際・国内学会発表で公表した。以上の成果は9編の査読付き論文として公表され、6件の招待講演を含む12件の国際・国内学会での講演で発表した。研究経費はデータ解析環境の整備とデータベース作成補助のための謝金、関連する最新の研究成果の情報収集ならびに成果発表旅費として使用した。
