Study on global changes in radiation belt on the basis of nonlinear wave-particle interaction and nondiffusive particle transport

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

太陽風から内部磁気圏に至るエネルギー輸送・変換過程と相対論的電子及びkeV帯電子の輸送・変換過程について電磁流体シミュレーションとドリフト移流シミュレーションを組み合わせ調べた。放射線帯変動を引き起こす擾乱として惑星間空間衝撃波、磁気嵐、サブストームが挙げられる。(1)惑星間空間衝撃波が到来すると磁気圏が急激に圧縮される。その結果生じる電磁流体速達波は昼側から夜側に向かって内部磁気圏を伝播する。電磁流体速達波は強い磁場の圧縮と東西方向の電場を伴っており、内部磁気圏に捕捉されている電子は断熱的に加速され、電子の温度異方性は上昇した。しかし、ホイッスラー波の線形成長率が大きく上昇することは認められなかった。その原因として熱い電子の密度が十分高くなかった可能性があげられる。また、電磁流体速達波と相対論的電子のドリフト共鳴についての非線形効果を検証したが、明確な非線形効果は認められなかった。今後の詳細な検討が必要である。(2)惑星間空間磁場が南を向くと磁気圏では対流電場が強まり、サブストームが頻発するようになる。磁気圏尾部に起源を持つ熱い電子は内部磁気圏に注入され、その先端付近で温度異方性が高まる。ホイッスラー波の線形成長率は真夜中から明け方付近にかけて大きく上昇した。ホイッスラー波の準線形成長率が最も高くなる波の周波数においてホイッスラーモード・コーラス波の非線形成長率は1~3桁高いことがわかった。準線形成長から非線形成長に移行し、コーラス波が効率良く放射される可能性も併せて示した。太陽風のパラメータを様々に変えた数値実験により、ホイッスラー波の準線形成長率及び非線形成長率は太陽風の速度に依存することがわかった。これは太陽風の速度があがると磁気圏対流が強まり、サブストームが頻発し熱い電子が注入されるためである。
