Outline of Final Research Achievements

The main objective of this research project is to examine how care is practiced in the modern world, where the operation of statehood is changing. First, we investigated how care is organized and arranged for immigrants, refugees, and displaced persons, who are positioned on the boundaries of the state. Second, we explored how care for the aged is reorganized in aged and super-aged societies. The results reveal that care is enacted as social infrastructure across diverse sectors such as the state, markets, civics, and family. The practice of care reveals that the interface of family and society is in the process of being recomposed.
